Driving up the 395 towards Lone Pine after an evil day before and having had slept in a Walmart parking lot I was kind of excited when I saw this beaten down building along the side of the highway. I have a strange affection for abandoned spaces and so I stopped and took a few photos, this one is the vertical. I also shot a horizontal version (see next post) which do you like better? I myself am torn.

In the busy world of designing and creating things this will be my place to rest and show you what I have been up to. Photography has held a central role in my life for all of my adult life and most of it deals with some strange ideals that I have about life and beauty. I will not solve the world's problems with my images, I will not cure any disease, I will not assuage the pain of living in a modern world. But what I will do is show you how I see things and hopefully you might get some semblance of pleasure from that. Most of my images lately have been made using one of the oldest photography processes, wet plate collodion. And this blog is about my adventures in learning.
And in case you are wondering the magic happens in San Francisco. And sometimes on the road with the mobile darkroom and camera.
